Beautiful Distress was founded on the concept that there is a great deal of mental suffering, that not enough people are aware of this and that not enough is done to stop it.

The Foundation uses art in an attempt to open up the world of psychiatry and battle the stigma attached to it.

Why art? Beautiful Distress believes that art is pre-eminently capable of articulating and depicting the human condition

Nieuwe datum: 9 juli a.s. presentatie werk Aldo van den Broek

Op donderdag 9 juli 2015 van 18.00 tot 20.00 uur (inloop vanaf 17.00) presenteert Beautiful Distress in het Lloyd Hotel & Culturele Ambassade werk van Aldo van den Broek, onze tweede artist-in-residence in het Kings County Hospital in New York.

In een gesprek met Wilco Tuinebreijer zal Aldo van den Broek vertellen over zijn ervaringen in New York en zijn verblijf in het psychiatrische ziekenhuis in Brooklyn en werk dat hij daar maakte, toelichten .

U bent van harte uitgenodigd om deze bijeenkomst (kosteloos) bij te wonen. In verband met het aantal beschikbare plaatsen en de catering vragen wij u vriendelijk zich via onderstaande link aan te melden.
